Quick Verdict

Is the DYU C9 worth buying?

If range is your main worry, the C9 is the most interesting bike in DYU's lineup. A 48V 15.6Ah pack is far bigger than the packs on the smaller folders, and the fat tires, front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes make it feel like a proper commuter rather than a toy. The price is €999 against a crossed-out €1,399. The 150 km figure is a best-case pedal-assist number, so plan on less in real riding. At 30 kg it is also not something you carry up stairs for fun.

Great forCommuters with longer routes, riders who want fat tires and suspension in a bike that still folds for storage.
Reconsider ifYou need something light enough to carry onto trains daily. At 30 kg the C9 is a roll-it, not lift-it, folding bike.
Overview

A big-battery folding commuter

DYU sells the C9 as a comfort commuter with ultra-long range. The frame is aluminium alloy, the tires are 20 x 3.0 inch, and it comes in green (white was sold out when I looked). It folds down to 970 x 465 x 760 mm.

Key Features

What makes it stand out

01 · Battery

48V 15.6Ah for long days

The pack is the headline. DYU quotes up to 150 km in pedal-assist mode and up to 25 km/h top speed. Treat the range figure as a ceiling: rider weight, hills, assist level and cold weather all eat into it. Even at half that number you get a few days of commuting between charges.

02 · Ride

Fat tires and a front shock

The 20 x 3.0 inch tires and a front shock absorber are there to soak up kerbs and rough tarmac. The listing mentions a suspension system for bumps and says the 250W motor can handle slopes of around 15 degrees.

03 · Braking

Hydraulic disc brakes

Hydraulic discs are a step up from the cable brakes you often see at this price. For a heavier bike with a bigger battery, that is a sensible place to spend money.

04 · Folding

Quick fold for storage

The frame folds to 970 x 465 x 760 mm so it fits a hallway or car boot more easily. Because it weighs 30 kg, think of the fold as a storage feature rather than a carry-on-the-train feature.

Overall Score

Range-first commuter at a fair price

The C9 is the bike to look at if you want one battery to cover a long commute and don't mind the weight. It is not the lightest folder, but the pack, tires and brakes are strong for €999.
