Is the Drift Hero 2-seat go-kart worth buying?
For a family with a decent yard or private land, it is one of the more sensible go-karts we have seen from a small brand: two seats, a 400 lb max load, independent front suspension, disc brakes and parental speed control as standard. The battery is a 60V 20Ah lead-acid pack, which is heavy and has a listed range of 5 to 20 miles, so do not expect all-day riding. It is for off-road use only, with a recommended age of 13+.
A shared ride, with some limits you control
The kart is shipped as shown in the first listing image, and accessories such as a digital speed screen, a sticker pack, a bimini top, a windshield and mirrors are sold separately. It has forward and reverse, push-button ignition and a three-gear drive (Hi, Mid, Lo).
What makes it stand out
2000 W, 60V 20Ah
Max power is 2000 W, with more than 9 Nm of torque. The battery is a 60V 20Ah lead-acid pack with a listed range of 5 to 20 miles. Lead-acid is heavier and cheaper than lithium, which explains part of the price.
Parental speed controls
Max speed is above 28 mph, but parental speed controls come as standard. For a 13+ driver, that matters more than the top speed number.
Independent front suspension, disc brakes
Independent double shock absorbers at the front, double shock at the back and disc brakes. Ground clearance is 197 mm, and the kart rides on 145/70-6 front and 16x8-7 rear tyres.
